International FDI Summit and FTZs - 28-30 Oct Huzhou
We are pleased to inform you about the International FDI Summit. The event focuses on Chinese inbound/outbound FDI and it is the first event of its kind in Huzhou, held 28–30 October at the Sheraton Huzhou Hot Spring Resort organised by the Huzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce. During this event the “Free Trade Zones & Special Economic Zones” seminar will take place on the 29th October.
Free Trade Zones and Special Economic Zones
On the 26th of August China announced an expansion of the existing Free Trade Zones pilot project to include 6 new zones. These 6 FTZs are to be established in the provinces of Jiangsu, Guangxi, Yunnan, Shandong, Hebei and Heilongjiang. This expansion of the project will bring the total number of FTZs in China to 18; these FTZs are important pilot projects which assist the development of market reformation in the rest of China. With new free trade zones and special economic zones opening frequently the days of “if you build it, they will come” are numbered. What steps can zones take to differentiate themselves from their competitors to successfully attract investment? What should corporations consider when they are deciding which zone to choose?
Lorenzo Riccardi will moderate the panel
