China’s FDI November 2022

According to the Ministry of Commerce, actual Foreign direct investment (FDI) into the Chinese mainland increased by 9.9% during the first eleven months of 2022 to RMB 1.16 trillion.


In USD terms, the inflow went up 12.2 % year on year to USD 178 billion.


According to the ministry, FDI inflows to the service industry rose 0.9% year on year to RMB 842.6 billion, while those to high-tech industries increased 31.1%.


Specifically, FDI in high-tech manufacturing rose 58.8% from the same period a year ago, while that in the high-tech service sector surged 23.5% year on year.


During the period, investment grew respectively by 122.1% in South Korea, 52.6% in Germany, 33.1% in the United Kingdom, and 26.6% in Japan.


FDI into the country's central region increased 28.6% in the central region, followed by 24.6% in the western region, and 7.7% in the eastern region.
