Indonesia Trade Trends February 2023

According to the latest data issued by the Statistics Indonesia, the country’s international trade recorded a surplus of USD 5.4 billion in February 2023, and has been in surplus for 34 consecutive months. February's trade surplus also marked an increase from the previous month which was USD 3.87 billion and was the biggest since October 2022.


Indonesia's exports in February rose by 4.5 per cent to USD 21.5 billion, while imports fell 4.3 per cent to USD 15.92 billion.


The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) is a political and economic union of ten members, has 667 million people and a territory of 4.5 million Km2; is currently the third largest economy in Asia-Pacific and the fifth largest in the World. The ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) has a combined GDP of USD 3.6 trillion, according to estimates for 2022.
