Located at the eastern edge of mainland Southeast Asia, Vietnam is one of the fastest-growing countries in the world. The capital of the country is Hanoi, while Ho Chi Minh City is the largest city. With a population of over 96 million, it covers an area of 311,700 square kilometres. Vietnam's economy grew by 5 per cent in 2023 and the government is targeting GDP growth between 6 to 6.5 per cent for 2024.
ASEAN
The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) is a political and economic union of ten members, has 667 million people and a territory of 4.5 million Km2; is currently the third largest economy in Asia-Pacific and the fifth largest in the World. The ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) has a combined GDP of USD 3.6 trillion, according to estimates for 2023.
