China Further Expands Visa-Free Policy

According to the announcement made by the Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian on November 1st, China will extend the visa-free policy on a trial basis to ordinary passport holders from Slovakia, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Iceland, Andorra, Monaco, Liechtenstein, and the Republic of Korea.


This policy aligns with the previous efforts of Beijing to further encourage international travel and reignite cross-border tourism, economy, and cultural exchange.


This policy will be in effect from November 8, 2024, to December 31, 2025, and will allow citizens of the afore mentioned countries to enter China for business, tourism, family visits and transit for a duration not exceeding 15 days without the need for a visa.


The countries already included in the expansion of the current visa-free trial policy are France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, Ireland, Hungary, Austria, Belgium, Luxemburg, Poland, Portugal, Greece, Cyprus, Slovenia, Malaysia, New Zealand, and Australia.
