China Revises Export Tax Rebates

On December 4, 2024, the Ministry of Finance and the State Taxation Administration jointly issued Announcement No. 15 of 2024 regarding the adjustment of export tax rebate policy.

According to Announcement No. 15, the export tax rebates for aluminum products, copper products, and chemically modified animal, vegetable or microbial oils and fats are cancelled. The export tax rebate rates for some refined oil products, photovoltaic products, batteries, and some non-metallic mineral products are reduced from 13% to 9%. The announcement will take effect from December 1, 2024. The applicable export tax rebate rate of the products listed in this announcement is determined by the export date noted on the export goods declaration form.

This policy adjustment is expected to have a significant impact on relevant industries and international trade. It may lead to changes in the production and export strategies of enterprises engaged in these product lines.
