China’s CPI April 2023

According to the latest data released by the National Bureau of Statistics, China's consumer price index (CPI), a leading indicator of inflation, rose by 0.1 per cent year-on-year in April, down from 0.7 per cent in March.


On a month-on-month basis, April's CPI lowered by 0.1 per cent, compared with the 0.3 per cent decline in March.


Additionally, the data showed that China's producer price index (PPI), which measures factory-gate prices, fell by 3.6 per cent year-on-year in April after a contraction of 2.5 per cent in March.
