China’s FDI April 2023

According to the Ministry of Commerce, actual Foreign direct investment (FDI) into the Chinese mainland increased by 2.2 per cent during the first four months of 2023 to RMB 499 billion.

In USD terms, the inflow went up 3.3 per cent year on year to USD 73.5 billion.

The foreign investment in the manufacturing industry grew 4.1 per cent to RMB 130 billion of global capital between January and April period.

Moreover, FDI in high-tech manufacturing surged 37.1 per cent from the same period a year ago, while that in the high-tech service sector rose 6 per cent year-on-year.
