China’s FDI June 2023

According to the Ministry of Commerce, Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) into the Chinese mainland reached RMB 703.6 billion during the first six months of 2023, down 2.7 per cent year-on-year.

The FDI in high-tech industry surged 7.9 per cent between January and June, while that of in the high-tech manufacturing rose 28.8 per cent year-on-year in the same period.

China saw its newly established foreign-invested enterprises reaching 24,000, an increase of 35.7 per cent on annual basis.

Moreover, China's non-financial outbound direct investment grew 22.7 per cent to RMB 431.6 billion in the first half of 2023.
