China's GDP 2022

According to the latest data released by the National Bureau of Statistics, China's GDP grew 3 per cent year on year to RMB 121 trillion in 2022. The economy expanded by 2.9 per cent in the October-December period, slowing from 3.9 per cent in the third quarter.


The country's fixed asset investment, a gauge of expenditure on items including infrastructure, property, machinery, and equipment rose 5.1 per cent in 2022, while the service sector output increased 2.3 per cent year on year.


In 2022, China's value-added industrial output, an important economic indicator, increased 3.6 per cent year on year, and 1.3 percent in December.


China's retail sales of consumer goods, a major indicator of the country's consumption strength, fell by 0.2 per cent in 2022 reaching RMB 44 trillion, in December the figure declined by 1.8 per cent, however, the country's online retail sales expanded 4 per cent year on year in 2022 to RMB 13.8 trillion.
