China’s PMI April 2023

According to the latest data from the National Bureau of Statistics, the purchasing managers' index (PMI) for China's manufacturing sector stood at 49.2 in April, down from 51.9 in March. A reading above 50 indicates expansion, while a reading below reflects contraction.


The data also showed the PMI for China's non-manufacturing sector came in at 56.4 in April, down from 58.2 in March.


The official composite PMI, which includes both manufacturing and services activity, reached 54.4 in April, compared to 57 from a month earlier.
