China's Trade April 2025

According to data from China's General Administration of Customs expressed in dollars, China's international trade with the rest of the world showed the following trend in the first four months of 2025, with exports increased by 6.4 per cent, imports decreased by 5.2 per cent, and total trade rose by 1.3 per cent.

In April alone, Chinese exports grew by 8.1 per cent from a year earlier, while imports went down by 0.2 per cent, and total trade expanded by 4.6 per cent.

China confirms the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) region as the top partner with USD 331 billion in the January-April 2025 period, followed by the European Union (USD 247 billion) and the United States (USD 200 billion).

Trade with the member countries of the ASEAN grew by 8.1 per cent, with the African countries increased by 8.3 per cent, while trade with countries in the LATAM region, which includes Mexico, Central America and all of South America, remain unchanged.

China’s trade with the European Union showed no variation, while trade with the United States decreased by 3.1 per cent.

European Union imports of products from China recorded a negative trend with the Netherlands (-7 per cent), Germany (-7.2 per cent), France (-7.6 per cent), and Italy (-12.6 per cent), while the EU average was -9.2 per cent.
