Hong Kong to enter RCEP

On September 1, the sixth "Belt and Road" Summit Forum in Hong Kong was held. Wang Wentao, Minister of Commerce, and Carrie Lam, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, attended the opening ceremony of the forum and delivered speeches.

Carrie Lam said that Hong Kong and the members of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) have close trade and investment relations and can make contributions in many ways, especially in assisting member states to establish ties with the mainland. Once RCEP is ready to welcome the new Partners, the SAR government will formally discuss accession issues with member economies.
