Shanghai Business Dialogue 27 Sep

A roundtable between the Shanghai authorities and representatives of Italian key companies located in the municipality was held on September 27th 2021, at the Municipal Government building.

The meeting, organized by the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce and the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC), was an opportunity to strengthen the business dialogue between the local authorities and the Italian business community, as well as to better support the development of the Italian business in the region.

Shanghai is a municipality located in Eastern China. Acknowledged to be China’s main economic and financial center and, one of the most important in the World. With a population of 24.8 million inhabitants, it is the most populous urban area in the country, covering a total surface area of 6,340 km2.

In terms of GDP, Shanghai reached USD 561 billion in 2020 and 548 billion in 2019 with a GDP per capita of USD 23,097. Along with GDP growth of +6.0% in 2019 and +1.7% in 2020.
