Tax Deadlines Postponed for the Pandemic in Shanghai and Shenzhen

In order to fully cooperate with the city's epidemic prevention and control work, Shenzhen and Shanghai Tax Service, State Taxation Administration issued the notice on 14 March and 15 March 2022 respectively on the matters related to the tax declaration deadline in March.

The deadline for taxpayers who file tax declaration monthly for March will be extended from March 15 to March 31. VAT fapiao should be issued after the taxpayers complete the VAT tax declaration.
The taxpayers who still have difficulties in tax declaration within the deadline of March due to the epidemic could apply to the tax authorities for an extension of filing through the Shenzhen E-tax bureau of the State Administration of Taxation.
According to the Shenzhen epidemic prevention and control press conference on March 14, 2022, all non-essential flows and activities should stop. Except to ensuring the city’s operation and the transportation of goods to Hong Kong, the city’s buses and metro will be suspended. The communities, villages and industrial parks implement lockdown management and all companies will work at home and suspend production and business activities. All personnel in the city will not leave Shenzhen unless special needs with a 24-hour negative certificate.
