Vietnam GDP Q1 2026 +7.8%

According to the latest data from the National Statistics Office, Vietnam’s economy grew 7.8 per cent in the first quarter of 2026.


During the first quarter of 2026, agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector grew by 3.6 per cent, contributing 5.6 per cent to overall growth, while industry and construction rose by 8.9 per cent and accounted for 44 per cent. At the same time, services grew by 8.2 per cent, contributing 50 per cent. Manufacturing, accounting for 33 per cent, increased by 9.7 per cent, confirming its role as the main driver of economic growth.


Overall, despite latest disruptions, the combination of accelerating quarterly growth, strong industrial momentum, resilient services and improving labour productivity position Vietnam as one of the fastest-growing economies in the region in 2026, reinforcing its role as a key driver within Southeast Asia’s economic landscape.


In its latest outlook, the International Monetary Fund estimated Vietnam’s GDP growth rate at 5.6 per cent for 2026.


The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), a political and economic union of ten member states, has a population of 667 million and spans a territory of 4.5 million square kilometers. It is currently the third-largest economy in Asia-Pacific and the fifth-largest in the world. The ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) has a combined GDP of USD 4.2 trillion, according to estimates for 2025.
