According to data released by Vietnam’s General Statistics Office, the country’s trade activity continued to expand in July 2026, supported by robust growth in both exports and imports, reflecting sustained industrial activity and the continued integration of Vietnam into global supply chains.

Exports increased by 25 per cent year-on-year in July, reaching USD 53.1 billion. During the first seven months of 2026, export turnover rose by 21.7 per cent to USD 319.5 billion, confirming the strong performance of the country’s export-oriented economy.

Processed industrial goods remained the main contributor to export growth, accounting for approximately 90.1 per cent of total exports. This highlights the continued development of Vietnam’s manufacturing sector and its role as a regional production hub.

The United States remained Vietnam’s largest export market, with export turnover reaching an estimated USD 104.7 billion during the January–July period, demonstrating the importance of bilateral trade relations and sustained international demand for Vietnamese products.

Imports also recorded strong growth, increasing by 34.8 per cent year-on-year to USD 340.1 billion during the first seven months of the year. Production materials accounted for 94.1 per cent of total imports, reflecting continued investment in manufacturing capacity and the expansion of industrial production. China remained Vietnam’s largest source of imports, supplying intermediate goods and components that support the country’s export-oriented industries.

Manufacturing activity continued to strengthen in July, supported by increases in industrial output, new orders, export demand, and purchasing activity. These developments indicate sustained momentum in the industrial sector and continued confidence among manufacturers.

Consumer price inflation stood at 4.45 per cent year-on-year in July, remaining broadly in line with the government’s target for 2026. Meanwhile, lower oil prices contributed to easing production costs for manufacturers, supporting business activity.

Overall, recent trade and industrial indicators highlight the resilience of Vietnam’s economy, underpinned by strong export performance, expanding manufacturing activity, and continued integration into regional and global value chains. These developments reinforce Vietnam’s position.
