China GDP growth in 1H 2021

The National Bureau of Statistics of China disclosed on July 15th 2021, the preliminary information about the country's gross domestic product (GDP) in the first half of the year.


According to those figures, China's domestic product increased by 12.7% year on year to 53,216.7 billion yuan.


By quarter, the year on year GDP growth for the first quarter was 18.3%, with an average two year growth of 5.0%; for the second quarter 7.9%, with an average two year growth of 5.5%.


Other major economic indicators have shown continued improvements across the board.


From January to June, industrial enterprises above designated size achieved a total profit of 4,218.33 billion yuan, a year on year increase of 66.9%, an increase of 45.5% over same period in 2019, and an average increase of 20.6% over the two years.


Also, in the first half of 2021, the total retail sales of social consumer goods reached 21,190.4 billion yuan, a year on year increase of 23.0%, with an average growth rate of 4.4% in two years. Among them, the retail sales of consumer goods other than automobiles reached 18,999.7 billion yuan, an increase of 22.2%.
