China-Qatar New Tax Protocol

According to the latest news from the State Administration of Taxation, the "Protocol of the Agreement between the Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of the State of Qatar on Avoiding Double Taxation and Preventing Tax Evasion on Income" was officially signed in Doha on March 11, 2021. Both China and Qatar have completed their respective domestic legal procedures necessary for the entry into force of the "Protocol". The "Protocol" entered into force on August 24, 2021 and applies to income received on and after April 1, 2021. According the "Protocol", income obtained by an enterprise of a Contracting State in the other Contracting State is exempt from value added tax or similar taxes in the other Contracting State.
