China's New Visa Measures to Boost Business

China has announced new visa measures aimed at promoting cross-border business exchanges and easing foreign business activities in the country.

According to the Ministry of Public Security and National Immigration Administration, foreign business people will be able to apply for port visas, previously only obtainable under emergency circumstances, with an invitation letter and enterprise certification. Multiple entries can be facilitated by transferring the port visa to a valid business visa within three years after entry, providing convenience for foreign business and trade personnel coming to China.

Moreover, permanent foreign residents will be able to retain their passports during residence permit applications, benefitting many with carrying out their social affairs during the process and improving the business environment in China.
