The Province of Anhui is linked between Western and Eastern regions. Located in East China and part of the Yangtze Economic Belt, Anhui is a well-known hub for the Belt Road Initiative. Hefei is the capital and the largest city of the province. With a population of 61 million inhabitants covering a total surface area of 140,200 km2, Anhui ranks as the eighth-most populous province in China.

Established in 2020 and Development area in the Yangtze River Delta, with the purpose to promote in-depth integration of scientific and technological innovation and the development of the real economy, and advanced manufacturing and strategic emerging industries in the Yangtze River Delta.


The target industries are high-end technologies, integrated circuits, artificial intelligence (AI), fintech, smart cars, appliances, international logistics, new energy, new materials. Besides, the functional areas include the Hefei area (64.9 sq. km), Wuhu area (35.0 sq. km), and Bengbu area (19.9 sq. km).
