China: tax deadline extended in March 2020

The State Administration of Taxation has issued on March 3rd the Circular about the extension of the tax declaration deadline in March 2020 (Shuizonghan no. 37 2020).

According to the Circular, the tax deadline in March is postponed from March 16th to March 23rd, 2020, nationwide. In certain areas affected by the epidemic, the deadline may be further delayed according to the specific situation.

Taxpayers in difficulty that are not able to handle the tax filing on time can apply with the competent tax authorities in order to further postpone the tax declaration and the related payments.

The extension of the tax declaration deadline in March 2020 is an additional measure to support taxpayers and withholding agents during the epidemic prevention and control period in handling the tax declaration matters.
