China’s Trade February 2026

According to data from China’s General Administration of Customs, China’s international trade with the rest of the world showed its highest performance during the first two months of 2026, with exports increasing by 21.8 per cent, while imports raising by 19.8 per cent, and total trade reaching USD 1.2 trillion.


China confirms the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) region as the top partner with USD 176 billion in the January–February 2026 period, followed by the European Union (USD 142 billion) and the United States (USD 86 billion).


China’s export performance in early 2026 was particularly strong in the technology sector, with tech products, electric vehicles, lithium-ion batteries, and solar cells driving growth. Semiconductor exports surged by 66.5 per cent year-on-year, marking the fastest increase in over a decade.


Trade with the member countries of ASEAN grew by 30 per cent since the beginning of the year, with the African countries increasing by 37.1 per cent, while trade with countries in the LATAM region, which includes Mexico, Central America, and all of South America, went up by 22.2 per cent.


China’s trade with the European Union increased by 27.8 per cent, while trade with the United States decreased by 10 per cent.


Exports of products from China to the European Union increased considering Italy (36.4 per cent), France (31.9 per cent), Germany (31.3 per cent) and the Netherlands (17.9 per cent).
