Indonesia GDP Q1 2025 +4.9%

According to data from Statistics Indonesia, the country’s GDP grew by 4.9 per cent on a yearly basis to USD 344 billion in the first quarter of 2025.
In the January-March period, South-East Asia's largest economy grew slower than the 5 per cent recorded in the previous quarter, while on a quarterly basis, it contracted by 0.1 per cent
Household consumption, which makes up over half of GDP, grew 4.9 per cent in the three months of 2025, the slowest pace in the last five quarters. From the production side, the processing manufacturing sector emerged as the largest contributor to GDP, growing by 4.5 per cent and contributing 19.2 per cent to the national economy, while the base metal manufacturing industry experienced significant growth of 14.47 per cent, in line with rising external demand.
Investment grew by 2.1 per cent in the first quarter, supported by investment in the new capital and other infrastructure projects, while government spending contracted.
In its latest outlook, the International Monetary Fund estimated Indonesia GDP growth rate to be 4.7 per cent for 2025.
The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) is a political and economic union of ten members, with a population of 667 million people and a territory of 4.5 million km². It is currently the third largest economy in Asia-Pacific and the fifth largest in the world. The ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) has a combined GDP of USD 4.2 trillion, according to estimates for 2024.
