Jiaxing and Economic Trends
Jiaxing is a prefecture-level city of Zhejiang Province in East China. Lying on the Grand Canal of China, it borders Hangzhou to the southwest, Huzhou to the west, Shanghai to the northeast, and the of Jiangsu Province to the north. With a population of 5 million and an area of 4,008 square kilometers, it has jurisdiction over two districts, three county-level cities and two counties.
Thanks to a well-developed infrastructure network, the city is interconnected to the Yangtze River Delta region.Also known as the "hometown of silk", Jiaxing is a famous producer of fabrics and wool.
