Shanghai extends April and May tax deadlines

Due to the ongoing measures for the pandemic control and prevention implemented in the municipality, the Shanghai Municipal Tax Bureau issued on 25 April 2022, the "Notice on Matters Related to the Extension of the Tax Declaration Period in April and May 2022".

According to the content of the Notice, the tax deadlines of April and May for taxpayers submitting monthly and quarterly tax filing are both postponed to 31 May 2022.

The tax deadline of April was already postponed in the previous weeks from 20 to 29 April, while the deadline of May was previously set on 19 May 2022.

Taxpayers who still have difficulties submitting tax filing within the extended deadline can apply with the tax authorities to further extend the filing deadline.
